My time as a postdoc in Gordon’s lab will always stay with me as the most special in my scientific career. Gordon was always fair with us all and never missed what was going on in the lab. He was always encouraging our efforts despite some, sometimes frustrating results. He was so scientifically meticulous that all the results we generated were checked over and over again and question by him to the point that, as someone told me once “if it comes from Gordon’s lab, must be right”. One of the memories I treasure most was a conversation one afternoon in his office, when I doubted my next professional move and felt pretty down. That day Gordon told me how good he though I was and that I would do OK in anything I would set my mind into…I am really grateful to Gordon, I will miss him and I would never forget him.
